This three-wheel car was constructed by Karl Benz in 1985. In October of the same year the inventor tested it, and in January of the following year he got the patent DRP # 37435. Today the one who is not very experienced in engineering can hardly see a car in this strange carriage. However, the fact is that we represent the very first car in the world, and this is officially confirmed by the patent. It was operated by a four-cylinder four-cycle engine, which had an electrical ignition and a vaporizing carburetor. The cooling of the engine was done by way of sprinkling. The back axis was connected to a tubular frame by a suspension leaf, and the forward wheel was not cushioned. Transmission was executed through a belt gear, and the drive of each of two conducting back wheels through the chain gear. 3D Models characteristics: format - 3DS; objects - car body, brakes, chassis, engine, steering, transmission, 3wheels; faces - 45678; materials - 15.

The cars of this type were produced for races of the sports prototypes. The appearance of the cars for common use became possible because according to the rules of the competitions only those models, which were produced by a series, not less than a certain minimum, could take part in the exhibition. It is interesting to know that the figure 40 in the car name appeared because its height was only 40 inches (1010 mm). Ford GT40, which embodied the ideas of Eric Broadley, represented a very progressive design: its bearing body represented two cavities of the closed section made of a thin aluminum sheet (0,75 mm). Glue and rivets were used for connection of the details. An arrangement and design of the power unit, and also the elements of a suspension bracket made it look like F1 models. 3D Models characteristics: format - 3DS; objects - car body, brakes, chassis, engine, steering, transmission, 4wheels; faces - 219623; materials - 52.

Willys Overland developed this car and produced it by the order of USA army. Its concept became traditional for American Jeeps, and also for the majority of off-highway cars in the world. The car had a rigid rail frame, a drive gear on all wheels, a depended suspension leaf, and a spare wheel on a back wall of the body. It also had the tires with facility grousers for driving on sand, snow and wet ground which are typical for off-highway cars. The drive gear of the forward wheels could be disconnected, and there was a speed-reduction gearing in the transfer gear case. Besides, it had a short base of wheels and a high clearance. The experience of its operation on difficult roads during the Second World War confirmed the infallibility of the accepted design decisions. 3D Models characteristics: format - 3DS; objects - car body, brakes, chassis, engine, steering, transmission, 4wheels; faces - 126690; materials - 28.

Contrary to the model F40, which celebrated its forties anniversary in 1987, F50 was developed without Enzo Ferrari’s participation. Traditionally, this car should have appeared by the fiftieth anniversary of the firm in 1997, but in March, 1995 it was already presented at the Geneva car exhibition. The design of this model, in addition to a number of Italian sports cars, was done by talented foremen from Pinninfarina. And it is not surprising that rush lines which highlight the car’s sports character amazes you from the very beginning. Its twelve-cylinder engine, which is traditional for this lead model of the firm, is allocated in the middle of a composed body of the most original design, which is in many respects similar to a bolide F1. 3D Models characteristics: format - 3DS; objects - car body, brakes, chassis, engine, steering, transmission, 4wheels; faces - 203531; materials - 44.

Having already five generations of ancestors, Spider a model of an Italian firm Alfa Romeo is a successful example of a modern car with a moderate sports concept. It means, that developers and manufacturers have received rather a cheap, economic and technological model by applying base units and technology of the mass car; however, due to dynamic and running qualities it has an absolute right to be considered a sports car. One short statement is enough for amateurs and connoisseurs of the car to gain respect for the model - it is the fact that it was designed by the famous firm Pinninfarina. 3D Models characteristics: format - 3DS; objects - car body, brakes, chassis, engine, steering, transmission, 4wheels; faces - 178738; materials - 61.

Ettore Bugatti the author and producer of Type 41, intended this model for sale to European monarchs. There were more than a dozen of them at the time (the car was first produced in 1927). However, economic crisis did not allow this idea to develop, and only six units of this monster’s chassis saw the light. Later several firms made eleven various bodies on the chassis. We represent so-called Coupe de Ville. And why is it called “monster”? You can judge for yourself: the volume of its eight-cylinder engine is 12763 cm3 and its weight is about 350 kg. The length of a block of cylinders is 1.4 m, total length of the car is 7320 mm, and the diameter of each wheel is 914 mm. It is interesting, that for Type 41 they produced more engines than chassis and when the production of the car stopped Bugatti used extra engines for locomotive drives. 3D Models characteristics: format - 3DS; objects - car body, brakes, chassis, engine, steering, transmission, 4wheels; faces - 125995; materials - 37.
